A Gems release from Liquid Dream
The Coffeevine launched its Gems line as a limited, bi-monthly release of rare, competition-level microlots, roasted by boutique roasters. This one is the 30th Gems edition, with Liquid Dream of Cologne, Germany. Its pack artwork reads “Bright, Vibrant, Tropical” and the lot is roasted for filter.
The lot
José del Mar Ordóñez grows Bourbon Pimienta on his Bella Vista farm in La Esperanza, San Agustín, Huila, at 1,850 to 1,900 masl. Cherries are picked every three weeks, so the trees rest for two weeks in between. They are fermented for 90 hours in tiled tanks, pulped, then dried with their full mucilage on the parchment for 22 to 25 days.
Liquid Dream tastes a mix of stone fruit and floral qualities when hot, shifting to bold tropical flavours, fresh pineapple and papaya, as it cools.
